The Diocese of Tucson as well as Governor Ducey has recommended that all schools close for two weeks amid the COVID-19 Virus. IHS will be following the recommendation. From March 16-April 19, we will be closed. Communication has been emailed to families. Stay posted for further updates. We are checking voicemail and emails periodically. God bless you!

Programs Available at Immaculate Heart School
Visual Arts at the high school is a comprehensive course that includes the study of principles of design, the role of art within our global society and trends in art. Our students develop abilities to express themselves through experiences in drawing, painting and sculpture. Students in grades K-8 take Art class weekly with a certified Art teacher.

The value of theater arts is in promoting students' deep understanding of their creative minds by developing discipline and critical thinking skills to create compelling theatrical productions. Students draw on their personal observations, experiences and understanding of life stories. They reflect on their use of body, voice and other resources to build their dramatic skill level. Students learn how to write, direct and perform a script. Additionally, they create sets and design costumes. The Theater Department provides opportunities for students at any skill level to participate.
Immaculate Heart High School students take two years of Latin, the foundation for all Romance languages, to further language studies through their college years. Latin also prepares the students for the PSATs and SATs. Students in grades 7-8 begin their Latin studies twice a week while grades K-6 attend Spanish class weekly.
Human development offers an academic look into the average human lifespan. The class surveys infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood and late adulthood from a psychological perspective.
Immaculate Heart students have an opportunity to develop their musical interests by participating in band and choir. There are several band concerts throughout the school year led by an exceptional band director. Additionally, students in choir can use their talents to honor our Lord by singing in the choir at our weekly Masses. Students in K-6 attend Music classes weekly.
Immaculate Heart High School's Pre-Law course explores the basic elements of the United States legal system. Students are given the knowledge and resources necessary to engage in government at the local, state and federal level. Students explore the rights and responsibilities shared by all Americans.
